Default Most Common TV Size What Size is Yours?

I am trying to figure out the most common or average TV size that people have in their main TV viewing room (living room or theater room).

Can you post your main TV's size please.

I'd guess the average size may be the 46" size, but if anyone has any comments on this, or a link to a website with more information it would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

42", based not on what size I wanted, but what suited the living room best.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

74" but its a projector and I'm only sitting about 7ft away haha. It's a dedicated theater room though.

My parents use a 50" in a large family room and it works well for them, often watching from the kitchen or the adjacent room. 92" screen for their home theater, seated about 12ft back - wouldn't want to go much smaller.

If the room isn't tiny and its going in a living room where you are pretty far away, watching from the kitchen, etc. I'd say 46" is the minimum.

If its going in a dedicated theater area where you can control the light, you'd be silly not to buy a projector IMO.

Lots of good deals on TV's these days, 52" 1080p LCD's going for ~$1000, 46" 1080p LCD's for $899, and 1080p projectors have come so far down in price they start at barely over $1000 and you can pick your screen size (for the most part).

Generally 40-46 in a living room is most suitable for most regularly sized living rooms.

60" at about 8-10 foot viewing distance.

they said that 50"would be ideal for my room size, but then I saw the 60" running blu-ray and had to buy it.

a general rule is times your screen size (diagonal) by 2.5 and that is your ideal viewing distance

48" downstairs and it looks huge since we sit like 6 feet from it. 52" upstairs and it looks way too small because the layout of the room is terrible

That isn't a very good guideline IMO. With 1080P, and even 720p/1080i, one can comfortably sit WAY closer to big screens than that. That rule suggests I sit more than 15 feet back from my 74" screen - I am 7 ft away and I could comfortably go bigger if I wasn't limited by throw distance. You can easily do a 1:1.5 diagonal screen size to seating distance ratio (or closer) with decent equipment and 1080p.
