    Typical Calgary?

I would be upset if the city halted all transportation to avoid a 2 minute delay of a burning torch being relayed around downtown.

    Life > Symbolic Torches

It's kind of a cool idea, but you don't want to make it more than what it really is.

It stopped for my train. The driver told everybody that the torch was out the East side of the train and EVERYBODY looked West onto MacLeod Tr. I had to point it out to the people around me.

Yeah, my mom and I took my son to see it. It was great fun! I was too young in '88 to remember a lot of the Calgary stuff, so this was cool. Lucked out with nice weather too

I was on 9th ave last night going to a meeting and saw the huge crowds. It was like a retro flashback with all the tu-tone Sun Ice Calgary 88 jackets with matching snowpants.

I was stuck in the Co-Op card lock (trying to get to the bottle depot while everyone was preoccupied with the torch). The person who was carrying it accidentally extinguished it.........whoops.

not really an olympic torch relay if they're just running around for shits and giggles.

If the rain it straight from Athens, Greece right to Vancouver (except for the boat/plane from England to Newfoundland) I might give a crap but this is just pointless now.
