Default Trying to install Oil Return line...

I am waiting for my turbo and a whole bunch of other parts right now and I am trying to be proactive. Installing the injectors, FMU, intercooler brackets, etc. The thing I am having trouble with is The OIL RETURN into the engine. I am doing this on a 2005 2.2 ecotec and it has a spot in the block casting where the 2.0 LSJ factory turbo has the return. So all I have to do in drill out the hole and tap it with 1/2" thread. Then I have to find a 1/2" NPT fitting with a 3/4" barbed fitting on the other side (simular to this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRS-1003/?rtype=10)

I am curious where in calgary would I find that 1/2" NPT tap, and that fitting. I tried, princess auto, parts source, canadian tire, UFA, and about 5 other farm supply/plumbing shops. Any thoughts?

as far as the tap goes, you co go anywhere really. quest industrial, calgary fasteners, triad fasteners, fastenal, canadian tire,

as far as doing what you had mentioned, is the motor dissasembled? if not, your risking a lot of metal shavings going into your crankcase. if this is the case, maybe you should look into getting a bung welded to your oil pan, or buying a different pan with one installed (ie moroso)

coat tap in grease, it will hold onto most shavings... then drain your oil.... and i would not be too worried

If you want some really nice fittings check out Calgary Valve & Fitting. They carry swagelok fittings and nothing looks better.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

interesting... maybe i'll have to use that idea....

also, i picked up a 3/8npt tap at fastenal for like $5, so i dont see the 1/2 being too much more. if you only need it for one hole, you dont need a really good one
