Makes sense to me... intentionally hitting a cop when you're trapped in a dead end = you're gonna get shot.
Unfortunately for us taxpayers, he survived and is recovering in hospital.

Attempted suicide by cop....?
Remeber when this came up last summer, guy at the car wash attemped to hit an officer.
They shoot him too.
to the cops dont put up with attemps on their life.
Its not only about money. Its about freedom, friends and family too.
Totally justifiable if it's legit. What I don't understand is this whole revving the engine part. Did the suspect drop the car into neutral, rev the engine, then put it back into drive? The whole revving the engine sounds a bit melodramatic.

If it's stick, he could've just over-revved it trying to put it into first... which makes sense if he was in a dead end street cause he would've had to make a u-turn. In an unfamiliar car, with 2 cops at the other end of the street, I can see him forgetting to let up on the clutch.Originally posted by Redlyne_mr2

I could also see him having trouble going from Reverse to Drive on an automatic if he had to turn around. You are being chased by cops, i wouldn't expect any simple task to be easy. My dad does it all the time, and it's annoying...Originally posted by Super_Geo

Good on the cops! One guy down, only hundreds more to go!

Finally - some Beyonders siding with the cops.
Not to say there aren't asshole cops out there, but seems like everyone assumes they are always screwin with the public.
But in this case,
I don't think they ever made that car in a manual.Originally posted by Super_Geo

He got what he deserved.
If he had tried to charge at me with a car and I had a gun he would not be getting off easy with minor injuries...taken to hospital with minor injuries
I would unload 2 clips of lead into his brain.
^ That's where you might get in shit.

The intent is ALWAYS shoot to kill, but sometimes cops miss. Those hollow point bullets arent the best at penetrating vehicles - they barely penetrate tires.Originally posted by King Banana

The intent is to go for body mass; that way, you are more likely to hit your target.
^ +1
I highly doubt that cops will ever shoot to kill, usually they just shoot in self defence and by some chance the person is killed.
