Looking for Helmet

Hello all,

Looking at a helmet for tracking in my car. Live in the Calgary area. Anybody have any recommendations to start looking? Have no preferences and budget is wide open right now - as long I like the product (must have good fit, meet specs, is fr)

Looking like the Stig would be cool though.

What kind of racing? Some have different spec's then others.

Looking to track the car. Must be Snell 2005 minimum? I see 2010 out there now. That an improvement I'm guessing?

are you doing solo 1 or solo 2? I think if your doing these you need SA 2005 or newer.

if your not doing either and your just doing track days a normal motor cycle helmet will be fine. snell 200d.

ive got a HJC cl-sp it is snell and dot approved.

its xs though. ive only worn it a hand full of times

basically helmets have a new certification every 5 years hence then snell 2010. Solo 1 and solo 2 requires you to either have a helmet with the current certification or the previous certification. So a snell 2005 or 2010 is good enough. Keep in mind if you get a 2010 you'll be good for the next 10 years where as a 2005 will be good for the next 5 ( till 2015).

I don’t think they have come out with the 2010's yet. I thought they were coming out later in the year. If you check any of the manufactures websites they all list 2005 stuff. I haven’t seen any 2010.
Basically if you want to race this season you have no choice other than to buy a 2005, or find a used helmet and buy a 2010 when they come out.
