    Default 2010 Edmonton Indy

I know it's kinda early ,but anyone plan on going ??
I actually have that weekend off ,so I'm planning now before the wife fucks it up !

Any suggestions on what seats to pick or avoid ?? Is the Paddock pass / Pit walk through passes worth it ?? I want to watch as much action as I can. The official website says no camera lenses longer than 3 inches. WTF ??? I'd like to take some decent pics
of the racing. How strict are they ?? I'd like to take a 75-300 zoom lense with me.

Looks like this will be the last Edmonton Indy,so it's now or never..

I attended the first two races in edm, and volunteered at the last one.

If you've never been to an indy/champcar/cart race before, the pit/paddock passes might be worth it. You can buy them at track.

I brought a 70-200 mm f/2.8 lens the second race in edm. And i saw plenty of race fans with big lenses and dslrs last year -- so I don't think they are too strict with lense lengths.

Seeing i wont be able to see F1 in Montreal, i think this will have to take the cake for me.

    What are tickets worth anyway?

I really like the Paddock Pass, and after being at the race for the past 5 years, I might enjoy the Paddock just as much as the race.

You get to see the all the trucks, guys working on the cars, various parts laying around, and get close enough to the cars to touch them.

If it's your first time any ticket is exciting. I went last year and I did the bronze 3 day package and I had a blast. I considered the price for the paddock and pit pass and it was too expensive for me. I might try it just to see what all the fuss is about but still without getting too close and personal I still had great time.

Not too sure how hard tickets are to get on race day, they will probably have some at the box office on site but it'd probably be best to buy the weekend package.

As for seats, I've went pretty much every race and gold definitely is the best (obviously) but I've sat in the bronze seats and they are good too, all depends on which part of the track you want to see...Gold is more pit lane, start/finish line and the first sector of the track, bronze is more focused on the three straights, sitting there and hearing the cars come out of turn 10 onto the back straight is pretty awesome though.

Never done the paddock but I hear good things, I'm probably going try it out...Pit walkthru was pretty much a waste of time all you do is walk along the front of the gold grandstands, you get to get fairly close to the crews and what not but they don't let you stop and take pictures. As for cameras last year my buddy brought his slr camera with a big ass lens (I'm not a camera guy but somewhere around a 200mm I think) with no problems and got some wicked shots.
