MSN Messenger chat bots

Over the last couple months, I get more and more "friend requests" from these bots.

Now I am at the point that I'm getting about 4 requests a day.

I've talked to my friends and its happening with them too.

I have a feeling its due to my Ipod Touch and the applications I have? Are app developers allowed to release email info? Just a theory.

My real question, is there anyway to reduce this occurance without changing my email?

yea I get them to, but the bots are all webcam scams
I think one of my friends clicked it and it just spread to everyone on the list

I got 3 of em yesterday and the only thing I use this email for is msn, it isn't linked to facebook or my itunes so I dunno what the fuck is up, mircosoft is slackin.

Facebook and google give out your information. I advertise with google, I get phone calls once a week from companies wanting me to advertise with them.

Facebook and google also give your phone number to those companies that say you won a contest.

Ive been getting alot of these too. However, my msn email isnt listed on my FB.

i think i had a bot try and add me as a friend on facebook today too.

On top of that i got 2 MSN contact requests today as well.

Same here. Thats why I'm leaning to Ipod apps. But Microsoft is definitely slacking.

Lol it is annoying i dont really like or trust facebook but i still have an account but i bearly go on it when they add you on msn put block any invitations from this user i think that blocks there ip address as well

lol...this is a typical "internet marketer" method to spam people to join cam sites etc.

How many of the above people have replied to some sort of ad...maybe on Craigslist..probably trying to get laid?

I'm just getting sick of how boring these bots are... They always say the same thing...

Me: What's up!!!
Bot: I'm 21/f you are a male right?
Me: I've told all you're friends this. When are you going to stop giving me sites to go to and actually meetup and put out..
Bot: Come to my site, I can cam, if your into that thing...
Me: Nah, usually don't meetup with internet folk, send a pic if youre hot though.
Bot: (Send some weird URL at this point)
Me: WTF, you and your girlfriends are soo annoying.
Me: Hello????
Me: TALK TO ME DAMNIT, SEND TEH PICS
Me: Ok, this sucks, why would you even message me
Me: (Get's frustrated and deletes)

I hate facebook chat with a passion. When I used Firefox, it worked terrible. Sometimes it works fine, shows me I have a new message and plays song, other times, it will make my browser lag like CRAZY everytime somebody is typing and sending me a message. It will literally lock up Firefox for 45 seconds. And it's weird when it would happen, I could be talking with 4 or 5 people through fbook chat and maybe 10 other tabs open and it would work fine, than I would be chatting with maybe one person, no tabs and it would constantly lock up the system. My system is hardly shitty too, 8gb of ram and AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor. And it was fucking annoying too, if I had that particular tab open, it would work fine, but if I was in a different window open, or I popped up the chat out so it had it's individual window, it would constantly minimize all the time. The instant I got a message and I wasn't on the fbook window, the fbook window would pop up which was fucking annoying, but if I was on the fbook window and a message came in, it would minimize!! Drove me insane! And I'm not the only one with these problems too, some of my other friends have the same issues too, some with shitty computers, some with great computers. I don't get it.

I starting using Google Chrome in hopes that it would fix it and it fixed the popping up thing but still slows my system down and it doesn't play the sound that a message comes in, so I never know when a message comes in or not. Pisses me off.

I hate fbook chat.
