Nope, no mechanical changes. Some extras inside, an extra set of wheels in addition to the stockers, and a different ground effects kit. not really worth the extra $3k they are asking for it. Its a better yellow than the states got though.

i thought the spec R1 numbers were lower than that. like under 500 produced... or was it 300

Its a pretty lame special edition, no extra power, just some visual stuff like a different ground effects package and wheels, shit knob etc.

If I remeber the commercial correctly it said it had 240 or 247 hp..I may have misheard it though

if anyone is serious getting the sti then you should get down to the dealership and put a downpayment on one. last i heard there was aready 2 or 3 people on the wait list.

I think you heard wrong. Its basically an appearance package, nothing to produce extra power, not even a muffler.
