I have a 1999.5 Jetta TDI and recently the upper intercooler hose needed to be replaced. I noticed oil was seeping out of the weeping hole in the EGR valve which is located right at the intake manifold.

Now I removed the complete EGR system, the cooler, all the pipes, etc and had the ecu retuned a little over a year ago so technically the EGR is deleted except for the diaphram on the EGR valve. Attached to the EGR valve is also an anti shutter mechanism which more a less helps the vehicle shut down smoothly which is the only reason I kept it on there.

The valve itself has these two little holes which will spew oil out when the egr valve goes bad. Would it be such a horrible idea for me to jb weld the holes shut rather than spending $300 on a new valve? I can't see this causing any negative side effects but just thought I'd get some input first.
