Default Photoshop Problem for my Research

    Hey,

So I have a request, I have to take the following picture and take the small round structures in the photo (tubefeet) and make them black or as close to black as possible on a light background. Is there any quick way to do this? I have to analyze many (and i mean many) of these using a program called imagej. The particular program I’m using needs dark structures on a white background (similar to the second photo).

I have a funny feeling this may be difficult because they are quite similar in colour to the surrounding area.

If you can help you would be making a Masters students life way easier.

    Thanks

Do you have a higher-resolution version of the image that isn't full of terrible JPG compression artifacts?

As posted by Berserker it might help if you posted a high res pic to work with so we can get a better idea of what the actual product would look like.

Are either of these good/what you need? Detail goes out the window with such a low-res image but it gives you a general idea of what can be done.

    Greyish

Pretty much 100% white/black like the small sample you posted:

    Thanks for the quick responses.

OK messing around with hue and saturation I can get these:

I guess the better question would be, what is the fastest way to get results like these, I have to go through about 100 similar images?

    Adjust each separately in photoshop?

I attached a high res version of the image Ill be working with.

if your using photoshop, there is actions and batch.
Record your action on your first image
    close it
    open batch under file menu.

use google for better details, basically it will apply the same effect to all images within a folder and save it.
