Isn't that the general rule of thumb? Four times as long?

On their trip planner it says it's 71 minutes from my house to work with one transfer in the middle. It's a 15 minute drive.

It's public transit, what do you expect it to do? Pick you up from your home and drop you straight where you need to be?

wasting time is one thing, dirty and smelly people on public transit (especially the train) is another major factor.

I swore the day i got my licence (16) i will never take calgary public transit again. And i have not yet broke that promise

The route suggester isn't that great sometimes. Check the map yourself to confirm.

I made that same promise to myself but had to break it when I started working downtown. There's no way I'm paying $28 a day for parking

The shortest trip from my house to the U of C on the bus is 55 minutes with a mean time of ~70 minutes. It is a 7 minute drive or 20 minute bike ride, fuck, I can even walk it in 45 minutes. Needless to say I have never taken the bus to the U of C and never will.

Yeah, bus for me to UofC would be about 70 mins, plus add about 10 minutes just to get to the closest bus stop. Driving I've been there as quick as 13 minutes, average probably about 17.

Not sure how much time I saved over the years, but it's a lot.

Same reason for me too... it takes long enough to get around this city in a car... forget using public transit.

Where the hell do you live? 3 buses to the U of C? You must be in frigging Evergreen or something.

For me the bus is faster than driving to work. 5 minute drive, 8 minute bus ride, but parking and walking to my building takes more than 3 minutes (and costs 5 times as much).

Some loser the other night thought it was funny to set off a stink bomb on the train after the car show. He's lucky he didn't get his ass beat.
