I come from the SW and am usually on 2nd street so that wasn't me. I have talked to a few people about it on 2nd though!

Need to pick up a saddle bag and some white or matte carbon bottle cages now. Any recommendations?

Do you race for a team or are you independent?

Saddle bags - nothing wrong with the MEC ones. Work as well as any, or the Green guru bags (also at MEC). $9 or $19 - your choice. Big enough for a tool kit / tube, etc. The MEC ones don't last all that long - have had good luck with the green guru - durable waterproof, and made from recycled tubes.

For cages - personally i'm not that picky. But best prices I've found on carbon cages are on wiggle.co.uk great prices there on most things. Usually get a few buddies together to get the order over the free shipping requirement if we're just buying little things.

I have the MEC shell one and will vouch for it. It's just big enough for a road tube, 2 levers, o2 cartridge + valve adapter. I've had it for a couple of years now and figured I would end up tearing the pull off the zipper, but it hasn't happened yet.

Carbon cages? How fast are you planning to go?

It's not about how fast you are planning to go, it's about how fast you want to look

I raced independent the last couple years but I'm riding with CMC this year.

Exactly, my commuter/CX doesn't have carbon cages, but the road and tri bikes do. lol.

Have been tempted to join cyclocross racing - not sure I can fit it in this season though.

carbon or bust lol. I bought a couple carbon cages from Wiggle for 30bux each. I thought that's crazy to spend that kind of money on something to hold my water bottle a year ago. It's all in the details, it has to look good lol.

I needed something to match the carbon fork so I picked up a carbon cage. Then grabbed a second carbon cage to match the first...

Haha. Pretty sure I talked to you at the AGM. Was standing next to our new club president Aric. Too bad I'm awful with names, but I'm going to guess it's Daniel.

Not the best to commute in as you are limited by the amount of gears, and if there is a wind you had sure as to hell hope it is behind you.
Still love this bike for short rides and dates with the girlyfriend.

I always wondered why they didn't go with purple for that bike.

My new commuter and first e-bike conversion. It's a monster @ 52 ft-lbs of torque! Took it for a test run down the bow Saturday evening and it was a blast. My next one will likely be a mid-drive to get better balance as this one pops a wheelie quite easily. Anyone with a Specialized Turbo want to race?
