Specialized fat boy, I really want some studded tires, but $500+ in this economy is nutty

Yeah, it's a 2015 and Bicycle Cafe in Canmore was able to order it for me. $250 cheaper than buying new and I like the colour better than the 2016 models.Originally posted by blitz
That looks awesome, did you find a deal in it?
No, it's a Jake with Tiagras. 105's came with the Jake the Snake.Originally posted by sneek

Nice color
If you go to Bow's site they have bunch of bikes on sale including JTS and Major Jake. Looks great! I am tempted to get a CX. However I haven't been on a bike for couple years and last bike was a Trance 1 that I barely used.
Keep posting pics folks!
Do it. I doubt you'd regret it. There are lots of trails in Fish Creek, Bowmont, Nose Hill, Nose Creek Park, Glenmore Reservoir that are perfect for a cyclocross bike. You'd be surprised at all the little single track trails hidden around Calgary (a lot of them parallel to bike paths) that aren't necessarily technical enough to be mountain bike material but super fun to blast through on a CX bike. It's also super versatile: throw 23c slicks on it and it's a (slightly heavy) road bike. Throw 40C knobbies on it and you've nearly got a rigid mountain bike (or something for long gravel rides).Originally posted by bigbadboss101

If you're even mildly competitive I'd recommend signing up for either the Cyclemeisters' Dark Knight or Terrascape Beans 'n Barley CX races. Both are super fun and the Dark Knight is pretty much just a party on a bike.
The blue light sale is coming up if anyone is looking for bike stuff.
New Rig!

good eye! Bike came with cheap alloy flats. I'm still shopping around for some thinner lightweight flats. Plus I haul the bike inside my civic trunk. Easier on the interior to remove pedals.Originally posted by Penguin_Racecar
