Beauty of a bike. What chain ring are you running at the front? I'm probably going 2x11 GRX on my Ti gravel build just to get enough range. Your unused left shifter is just begging to run a dropper postThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thanks! I have a 42t at the front. The left shift is actually to go left, bigger cassette and the right it to go right, smaller. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Watch the cat for different holiday hats!
Good deals for boxing week
Grabbed the lady something more practical for commuting than her fixie
... only $600
Then grabbed a dedicated trainer bike, dude thought the derailleur was snapped, was only the $12 adapter, which was even in stock at MEC... no wheelset, but now kinda tempted to grab a gravel one for the shoulder seasons, $200!!
Sweet deals. People paying off their xmas gift debt?
Well... that escalated quickly...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Shifters should be here tomorrow; already grabbed a wheel set with an 11sp hub... should be fully modernize by the weekend!
Only issue now is keeping up to her on my 1x11 cannondale, she’s been logging waaaayy more hours on the trainer than I have
finished upgrading the Argon and Kona, the Argon wont see any daylight until June/July so first ride with the Rove
Ultegra R8000 groupset 42t and 11-28, 11-32 is on the way.
Finally got it almost back together. Replaced chainstay (Rocky warranty), GX cassette, OneUp Oval 30T chainring, full fork and shock service. Just need to do brake pads, brake bleed and clean the rear derailleur.
Beautiful build! You gave this frame the life it deserved! Looks awesome. I still miss having the Rove in my fleet! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Well... shifters didn’t actually show up till today... but got it all together, it’s pretty awesome. 19.8lbs as it sits here
New bike day! Jumped on the Titanium bandwagon and built this up:
Lynskey Pro GR 6AL/4V
2x11 drivetrain with Shimano 105 levers and front derailleur matched with a GRX rear mech and 11/40 SLX cassette.
White Industries ENO Crank with 50/34 rings (yes, the derailleur can take up all the slack and it shifts beautifully)
FSA SL-K Carbon seat post.
Specialized Phenom saddle with Ti rails
TRP Spyre flat mount brakes
Stans Iron Cross Comp wheels
Flared FSA gravel bars
43mm Gravel King tires set up tubeless
Most importantly....Supacaz Sticky Kush Galaxy bar tape with pink bar plugs
Took it for a big shakedown ride yesterday connecting pretty much all the good stuff (gravel or back road) between 22x and hwy 546: https://www.strava.com/activities/5215575123

that's a crazy ride and only took you less than 6 hours.
how are you finding Ti vs other types of frame?
Legs were fairly fresh that day. Not bad for that ride being mostly shitty "tarmac" (if you can call it that) and 47km of gravel plus a boat load of elevation. Tough to compare - this bike has 43mm tires so they soak up a lot. My comparison is a Ridley full carbon CX bike with 36mm slicks and carbon bars. The Lynskey is definitely a lot more comfortable - I think a lot of that has to do with frame flex, which the Ridley does not have. Wide flared bars help, too.
@Penguin_Racecar How many links are on your chain? Was a single chain enough or did you have to add extra links? My roadie will have a 50t +11/40t, but I haven't measured it out yet.
Assuming you've got a similar chainstay length and derailleur (I'm guessing you're running some sort of long cage) I would say you're going to use all 116 links in the package. I didn't have to resize the chain at all and it clears 50-40 plus shifts all gears perfectly. The massive gear range is great. What drivetrain are you running?
I had a ti rove and while the price was decent I would be looking elsewhere. I sold it because the ride truly was not what a ti machine should be, flexy yet harsh at the same time it was weird when comparing it to my other ti bikes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Oh that's good to know. I'm running a Rival 1 crank and RD. I picked up a secondhand 44t chainring for the crank but I'm still unsure if I'll use it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
@taemo Yeah, so you should buy my Litespeed hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Are you running a 1x system with a 50T front and 11-40 rear? If so, you should be OK with 116 links. Assuming the long cage is similar to the GRX 810. I think some chain manufacturers (like KMC) have a 114 and 118 link option when buying them. I would imagine a 114 is going to be too short for your setup. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit: if you're running 2x with 50/34 & 11-40 make sure you look up the Rival 1 chain capacity. The GRX 810 technically does not support my setup. Max cog size for the rear is supposed to be 36T and I'm also out of spec on capacity (40T capacity, my setup is 45T) so make sure you do your research.
