^^^ Looks good!
So with the help of Projekz and letting me store it as his shop for months - I finally have my offroad rig home. Just put a new steering stabilizer and 33's on it....

Thanks. The Grand Cherokee was my daily driver before the baby, but I had to sell it and now I drive the CX9 familymobile daily. But I missed offroading, and this TJ was just too good a deal to pass up. ($2400)Originally posted by Sugarphreak
Kloubek, I didn't know you were rocking a new rig! Looks great!
How are the trails looking?
Looking for a new VW? How about a used vehicle? We are Central Albertas #1 source for pre-owned vehicles
I will beat any deal on a new VW for beyonders

McLean is pretty bad in some spots. Waiporous to the falls was ok but I wouldn't take a stock truck there since most of the water crossings are much more difficult with the big rocks that got washed away down stream. Some of the banks are pretty steep as well.
We should have a Beyond run at some point in August, maybe around the 24th or 25th??

I'm most certainly in.
Yeah I'd be in for another run for sure, for the most part the McLean trails were unaffected.
Truck has the leveling kit in the back now as well.
Snorkel is on the Jeep.
Bumper is here, installing this weekend.

Looks the same as mine, probably either a Safari or Safari based ebay one.
It's the Safari based Ebay ones that Emortal is selling. So far seems to be pretty good, everything fits great and all the connections are tight.

Tire carrier is mostly installed. The bracket that the carrier latches to was welded on crooked from the factory. See how it all shakes out tomorrow.
I need to snug up the front bolts, so it is sagging a tiny bit.

So it turns out that the jig at Rockhard was out of alignment when the steel went into it. They finished fabbing up a replacement; test fit is being done right now and its going for powder coat. Then they will have the current one shipped back to them when this one arrives. No cost to me and in the meantime I can make this fit by drilling the bracket.
Overall, very impressed with both Stan at Northridge for his help and with Rockhard.

Wow, can't imagine it'll be cheap for them to ship the new one to you and get this one back... Good to hear they're taking care of the situation.

So what do you guys usually bring during a trail run? I'm going to my first one in September and I have no idea what the essentials should be...
Also, anyone know where I can get a nice winch?
Winch, talk to Stan at Northridge. His price should be close to US list and I can bring it back with me one weekend since I’ll be in Edmonton. I’d go for an M8000, VR8000 or SuperWinch 9.5.
As for what to take on a trail run. I bring a change of pants and extra shoes or rubber boots if I get muddy. Enough food/water for each passenger for the day. Get a good recovery strap, looped ends and no metal hooks on it. You can grab one at Modern Motors, National 4wd, Broken Axle, The Gear Shop etc.. Recovery points front and rear that are securely mounted to the vehicle are always needed, these can be a tow hook or a tab for a D-ring. Tool kit is always good to have, as well as a first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Spare tire and a means to change it as well.

Sweet, thanks! I have the bare essentials already minus the straps so have to do my due diligence on what to get.
