They have the same tread pattern as the more expensive Toyo OpenCountry MT's, only they are lighter and a lot more inexpensive. They do however still have awesome sidewalls and ply rating.
Duratracs would be better in snow/ice though no?

I would agree that Duratracs would be the superior tire if you plan to run them year-round, especially if used for winter-beater duty. The M/Ts would likely perform a bit better in the really deep snow but tend to be pretty shit on ice.

If you plan on offroading, don't buy Duratracs. On a winter beater or something that won't see offroad, they are fine.

Specific reason to avoid Duratracs? I'm not sure I want to go for MTs especially for winter driving.

More importantly... what is the point of getting an off-road vehicle if you never plan to off-road it?
It's already been off road in the 36 hours I've owned it haha. Just it's not primarily for offroading as much as I want it to be, it's for carting shit around and holding people and keeping some mileage off my BRZ. I wish I could seriously take it off roading but that's $$$

I've had no issues with my duratracs, I may even leave them on for Moab this year ( I run KM2s in summer). A couple guys I wheel with have been running them for 3 years now year round which includes mclean, waiparous, and moab and never a flat.

The side wall issues seem to be overblown especially on a load range E.

Got the Pathfinder checked out and changed the oil at work. Truck is pretty solid for $1200, I'm going to replace one outter tie rod end, both front end links, align it, replace one lug nut, two wiper blades and then tires, otherwise no leaks, rest of the underneath is solid, very little rust, and fluids are all near new.

I still don't know wtf I am doing for tires. It's hard to justify $600 for tires when the truck came with two sets...

I have Duratrac's on the 4Runner and have wheeled with them consistently, usually aired down to 12 psi, never had any problems.
