And is it just me or does this girl have a really vertical face?
Edit:
Just noticed the sweet use of the red light in the background..

Well, maybe there should be a "Photographers Corner" in Ask Leo too! hahaha j/kOriginally posted by mb3k
Yeah, that was the point, this isn't Ask Leo
What was used to light up the backround in Red? It creates a nice contrast to the grey/black.

You're not supposed to critique the models. the mods get mad as fuck.
Why the long face?
LMFAO
The models get mad as fuck? or the moderators? I was thinking that it may have been a weird crop/resize issue...Originally posted by JfuckinC

the moderators...it's actually board policy that you can critique the photos but not the models...

Oh shi...
but to answer your question, the lenses mb3k uses are not distortion prone in general...not sure if this is 200 2.0 or what...but either way...

I was using the 24-70 at 58mm (I always leave EXIFs in-tact) so no crazy distortions. The red gel'ed back light was just pointed down the stairs, propped on one of the steps.
I think it is allowed if you are talking about the pose, wardrobe, doesn't seem interested in the shot,Originally posted by Go4Long

but nothing towards the appearance of the model
I could be wrong but this was my understanding
Just some teasers I sent off from a shoot I did on the weekend. Such a fun morning with these kids, I love my job!

When i have a kid of my own, he/she will be getting Ferrari jackets!!!! lol
That last one is just a tad bit over-exposed for my liking, but the lighting seemed to be less-than-perfect to begin with.

Might want to look in to monitor calibration...personally for a natural light portrait the exposure looks damn near perfect, the whites of her shirt still don't clip to white according to my poking aroundOriginally posted by Tomaz

Its just your monitor as stated above. It looked fine on my monitor at home, but looks hugely blown out on my monitor at work.Originally posted by Tomaz

if you look at the histogram in ps you can also tell pretty easily if its over exposed generally. A right weighted histogram is PROBABLY over exposed, left probably under.
In this case I also looked at the black point, no 0% even in the highlights. So its pretty damn good.
I did some printing the other night on ultrasmooth fine art and there was detail in the image from 3% to 97%. She was very concerned about the detail, and it was all there in print, which impressed the hell outta me.

Very nice set Mel. No exposure problems that I can tell of either.
