Default I just became a drone

Well after vowing to never own an apple product and getting sick with shitty cell phone after shitty cell phone (LG's, Motorola's, Samsungs, etc) I caved and got an iPhone yesterday. Nothing special, just a 3G , I get to renew my contract next year and the rep said I can get a good deal on the latest phone then if i renew with them.

Gotta say, I'm very impressed by the quality of it ... how well it navigates, it never slows down or stutters like every other phone i've used.

Now I'm looking for Apps, anybody able to recommend any apps they use consistantly and are actually USEFUL? (Fun games I'll consider as well ) .

Also, when I purchase an app (im with rogers) do they just bill my CC right away or is it on my rogers bill?

    Cheers!

apps are purchased through Itunes so they charge your CC or you can purchase gift cards to limit how much you spend.

there are tons of free apps and app demos so don't worry about paying for everything.

Also take advantage of the iphones wifi abilities to reduce your phone bill.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

it'll slow down on you. I've had mine over a hear and it hiccups occasionally. But generally pretty good.

That's a major iPhone feature that usually gets over looked. No other touch screen phone that I've tried has been able to beat the iPhone in those terms.

It will slow down at times, especially the 3G but jailbreak it and get SBsettings. It has a "Free memory" feature when your running too many apps and it'll speed it back up.

Trust me, compared to the last LG & Samsung phones I had, this thing won't slow down (at least as noticiable as those two did lol),

They would out right freeze for 5-15 seconds.

I had an HTC in the past that was pretty much unusable. My 3G and 3GS both work flawlessly.

You can't use gift cards in canada to buy apps.

Some useful apps to start you off:

Flixster - Movies app that shows theatres and times, etc.
    Shazam - Music identifier
    ScoreMobile - Sport scores
Engadget - Info on latest gadgets and new tech
Yelp - Helps you find nearby restaurants, banks, gas stations, etc. The restaurants come with reviews from other users, pretty helpful.
OpenTable - If you are a member (free membership) you can make reservations to restaurants like Catch, Blink, JSB, etc. You can also search by party size and date.
Skype - Need wifi but will allow you to make calls to anywhere for free to other Skype users.
AppBox - Bunch of apps bunched into one for like .99 or so.

There is a bunch more, but those are the ones that I never delete off my phone.

Power support Anti glare screen protector from the apple store is the BEST one hands down.

Turn the hot water on in the shower and let it get a little steamy and apply it in there. Take a peice of packing tape to get the dust off the screen.

Put it on and squeeze out the air. Done!

I posted my app suggestions in this thread (a couple may not work on the 3G). I suggest you add Wolfram Alpha as well:
