Apparently the guy didnt die. he was some old guy in his 60's. But I heard that the whole left half of his face was ripped off.

cops marked out the scene where his body was, and they got a southbound train running on the northbound tracks.

I got home in ~25 minutes from U of C to 7th Ave Station, instead of 12 minutes, but that was at 2:10ish.

I dunno, I don't see it as a good thing that he made it.

I know that sounds terrible... but with half a face I don't see his life being better than it was before his attempt, so it's very likely that he'll try again. There'll be another group of bystanders who'll get front row seats to a guy trying to turn himself into hamburger meat. And Joe and Jane Taxpayer gets to pay for what'll likely be quite a ridiculous hospital bill.

Ya I just made it home. all C-trains are in service now.

There was defiantly a couple of puddles of blood left in the middle of the track that i saw. cops shoveled the stones/gravel/blood mixture into buckets.

man that was crazy shit.

That said, this is a crappy situation for everyone. The guy himself probably had some pretty serious issues to do something like this, and he inconvenienced a lot of people (witnesses, transit riders, police, hospital workers, etc.) with his actions.
