Give the guy a break, a little more constructive perhaps? He is used to wearing jeans and a golf shirt, this is a step up, and towards the right direction. You want to look the part, and feel comfortable, the suit is fine, pants needs to be hemmed, the shoes, polished, as long as your not trying to win, runway model look of the year award, I think what you have is very appropriate.

Just make sure you give it a good cleaning and polish interview day. I was corporate for over 7 years, had to look fashion forward and professional all the time. Some guys on here probably prefer the "Le Chateau" look, to each their own, wear what makes you feel good to get the job done.

EDIT: Good advice from Godfauder as well.

Make sure you leave the label on the suit. It's the pimp thing to do, much like leaving the sticker on a cap.

Will this suit fit the image of 'corporate success' in downtown calgary? I'll have a different shirt and tie.

This is a Sean John suit, I know its not the most expensive but it fit great and the price is definitely right for my interview suit and the first one of many needed for the job. Input? Suggestions?

Price has nothing to do with it...

    Just make sure:
    -It's tailored! I can't stress this enough.
-Make sure you look like your wearing a suit, and the suit isn't wearing you.
-Don't stress about it, the more comfortable you feel in your suit, the better you'll wear it.

Looks good, but maybe get the pants hemmed, and show some cuff man! (about 1/2" would be perfect.) The suit seems to fit you fairly nicely.

You look fine. If a place is stuck-up and anal enough to care about the minutiae of your clothing over your qualifications, then you should question whether you want to work for them anyway.

As long as you don't look like a slob, you should be okay, and you're fine.

Plus, I find generally, the older people get, the less they care about their clothing and appearance anyway. All the snazzy trendy dressers are the people in their 20's and 30's.

One more thing I want to mention is SHOES!

Make sure you are wearing a decent shiny pair of shoes.

People do care about your appearance, and if you look like a million bucks, and your voice flows like a million bucks, and your not confrontational or cocky, you'll get whatever job you want.

    1. The pants are actually the right length. I just had them a little low in the pic. I've corrected this.

    2. Shoes will get a little polish before the interview.

    3. Its a good haircut, just a bad day and i was taking shirts on and of many times.

And who the fuck is Konj to call someone a goof? Lets see some your pics with your pocket protector and your calculator.

You definitely look good enough. One small thing is that i like having the cuff of my shirt about a half inch below the cuff of my suit jacket.

All in all you will have no problems, just make sure your confidence isn't only represented by your apparel, but by your handshake (firm, not vise like), voice and general bodily movements.

    Good luck.

Yea the jacket arms need to be shortened to show more cuff, and shoes need a polish... besides that looks good, just be confident and I'm sure you'll do fine!

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but tie a double knot on the tie (I'm not sure what the knot its called). It looks so much better than the single, much fatter, imposing, and powerful IMO.

single breasted, 2 button, 3 inch lapel
    Definitely business appropriate.
However, don't wear a black suit to an interview. Go with blue or a shade of grey

Full windsor right? I know this may seem silly but wear the proper socks for dress shoes, I know many people wear short white socks with their shoes (me for example) So the GF got fed up and bought me some 'Happy Socks', bright socks seems like the trend these days, but I'm sure regular socks will work out just fine as well.

    or double windsor.

I understand how wearing a good suit can make you feel, but man it sure is nice to wear jeans and a golf shirt everyday.

Jacket is at the tailor, shoes are getting a polish. Gonna do a winsor knot for the tie. Good to go. I hope

Thanks to everyone for the input.

It sure is. You'd have to pay me an awful lot of money to get me back into a suit & a stuffy corporate environment... and even then there's no guarantee I'd go for it.
