Default Need wedding photos printed - What's the best place for having prints done

My sister is looking to get her wedding photo's printed for friends family and for their home.

I don't print pics much, so I'm not really in the loop unless I need a few 5x7's so Walmart's prices are fine, but I know the calibration/maintenance of their machines is probably not the best.

I recommended Vistek, but I'm not sure what sizing they do?

Any other recommendations? max side would probably be a 8x10" but just curious what people recommend/use when their clients need prints.

If it matters, all pics are digital, taken on 50D, 5D,

    Cheers,
    B

We printed ours at Costco; good, cheap, easy and quick.

Definitely Costco if you won't be doing anything much more than an 8X10, especially if you need large volumes.

for smaller prints, costco is honestly the best.

for bigger vistek is good. there's other options as well...maybe check kijiji for wide format printing and see what you find

    vistek > costco > superstore > wal-mart?

How do the last two fare?
    Costco better than wal-mart?

costco is leaps and bounds better than walmart, superstore is OK, walmart is garbage, vistek is overpriced.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

    don't even bother with Walmart.
If you don't have a costco membership, go to London Drugs or Superstore. Walmart is shit.

Vistek will charge you an arm and a leg for photo finishing and I no longer trust them after they botched some slides I sent in that turned out not so great.

Unless you are doing enlargements go to costco. There isn't a huge differnece between most of the photo labs such as wal-mart, london drugs, superstore, etc. They all use the same low grade paper and commercial ink.

You could always get in touch with one of the many local photographers in Calgary that can get you some high end prints on better product than just photo paper. The quality of prints can make photos look way better or way worse.

For me nowadays everything is Kodak Endura Metallic Crystal archival quality goodness. Keeps the clients happy.
