Oh ya totally (from a group stage match at the 2002 World Cup)...Rivaldo is a real piece of shit for doing that. I wish it had in fact hit him hard in his ugly face...might have improved his appearance.

EDIT: the Turkish player got sent off (in the red).

It was the Turkish player in the Red that got kicked out for that. Rivaldo wen't down like he got SHOT... And we lost that game 2-1 to brazil after that. That's why i hate these cheating Fu@ker's who does this shit to get people kicked out.

I'm watching with the sound off, but I'm pretty certain they just showed a replay that involved David Villa punching a Honduran player in the face. Should have been an automatic red card there....

This is definitely a surprising world cup.

    Too many ties.
Big upsets... spain, germany and to a lesser extent ita vs nz...

From what I've seen so far this world cup is South American. Great teams all around. It seems Europeans can't win outside their continent.

    Brazil is Brazil.

Argentina with their stars playing is a much more dangerous/goal-capable team. I haven't seen the usual rough playing style from them

Uruguay - Despite almost not qualifying they've played solid games. Forlan FTW. Garra Charrua!

Paraguay have also been impressive. They will win their group.

Chile - La Roja under Bielsa's guidance are an impressive squad no major superstar/ego and I think because of this they play better as a TEAM. It would be funny if they win their group and force a Brazil/Spain match on the round of 16.

It'll be hard for Chile to hold back Spain but it wouldn't surprise me if the game comes out to a draw.

No kidding, you forgot to mention Mexico (not south american but still latino lol). What do you think about Mexico over France? Upset or was it expected?

100% expected. I predicted France to be the worst-performing superpower there, and that wasn't just a random guess. They had a terrible qualifying, no real leader and a coach that isn't respected. Further compounding this now is Anelka being sent home, the players refusing to practice and the threat of boycotting the final game. What a joke.

France is a goal AND a man down vs. South Africa

EDIT: 2:0 now for South Africa. GTFO France, you never deserved your spot in South Africa.
