Beautiful pass, that's the Brazil I want to see. All these games lately are very exciting.

I didnt find Brazil played really good. To me Chile didnt find their game. I think Brazil will have a lot harder time against a European team.

I think its still Spain's to win... we'll see how they fare against Portugal...

If Torres was healthy and in form... Spain would be pure unstoppable, but have been very formidable with just a Villa

I think Fabregas should replace alonso as in the starting 11

This is odd, but I actually think Japan might win tomorrow.

This world cup is dominated by the south americans. If not Brasil then I think Argentina will take it. They won the FIFA U-20 world cup here in Canada.

4 left out of the 5. I do think Paraguay will have a hard game but they will make it to the quarters.

Chile had the shitty luck to start off with Brasil.

What? Theres more non South American teams.

Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Portugal, and Spain are all good teams. Ghana is the only underdog right now.

Hopefully Torres will start lighting it up. Question is whether he will play.

Alonso is their best passer, but Fabregas is a most complete player. He should replace Busquets. I hate that guy.

And yes, japan is going to win.

Technically I think that Paraguay is the better team, but I have to predict that Japan will win today -- they played a very good game against Denmark (when the majority of spectators expected a Danish win) and I'm sure are full of confidence coming into the round of 16.

Portugal. Given my contempt for the Portuguese national team and their dirty play over the past several years I'm putting on a Spain jersey today. Spain should be able to pull this one off....

"Dirty Play"???? HAHAHA I smell an english man who hates being knocked out in the quarter finals every tournament! At least this year that's not possible....

Portugal is going to repeat their 2004 result against Spain, 1-0 from Simao!

Portugal = dirtiest international team of the past 10 years. Remember any of this?

Well deserved red card for that foul that looked like a clear attempt to break the other player's leg. The other players should be keeping their hands off the official and Joad Pinto should know (given that was his umpteenth red card) that you GTFO immediately when the red card is shown.

Luis Figo -- very classy headbutt there.

    (from http://soccernet.espn.go.com/euro200...tugalexit.html and http://soccernet.espn.go.com/euro200...aportugal.html )

Portugal's players were incensed at the penalty, awarded by Slovakian linesman Igor Sramka. Their protests held up play for five minutes as they surrounded Sramka. Zinedine Zidane eventually took the penalty that earned France a place in Sunday's final.

That brought the match to a halt, but fourth official Hugh Dallas of Scotland had to protect the linesman from further protests.

Nuno Gomes was given a red card after the game for pushing the official and substitute Paulo Bento appeared to spit in his direction.
They bowed out of the event behaving like a cross between petulant five-year-olds and wild-eyed hoodlums; screaming, spitting and shoving, bullying the referee and his assistant in a manner which went beyond mere intimidation. One of them, Rui Jorge, feigned a head-butt on Slovak linesman Igor Sramka but they were all so out of control you feared he had come close to being the victim of the real thing.

All for what? Because Sramka had made a brave and, most likely, correct penalty decision against them. Yes, it was a hard call; yes, passions were high with seven minutes left of extra time and an historic first championship final appearance for Portugal still on the cards; and, yes, it was a cruel way to exit.

Yet none of that could possibly excuse their anarchic response both before and after Zinedine Zidane had converted the golden goal from the spot.
