Default Infiniti G35 oil consumption issue

Do any of you guys own a 2005+ G35 6MT that has this problem? Just wondering if this is a overblown issue or what. If I am looking at buying one, what type of tell tail signs this particular car has this problem?

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

only thing I've heard about VQ35DE oil consumptions was pre 04 - cat issues, along with the same issues w/ the 2.5's in the altimas and sentras

It was due to a crappy cat that let particulaes back into the exhaust vent, burning out the rings prematurely

G35driver is a good source on this. It is only on the rev-up models. You would for sure notice it if it is consuming oil. If it is consuming oil, the dealers were replacing engines under warrenty from what I hear. I wouldnt let it stop you from getting one.

it's not a rare occurence for oil burning, but its rare enough that if the car has documented maintainence history you should be fine.
