^ Its a grey area to be sure. You need to have a light for it, above and beyond that they aren't overly picky.
I've had about 4 officers look at it, and conclude that since it has a light; its legal and doesn't need to be modded.
The last officer to comment about it was a woman, stating that I needed to "correct it".
Obviously I just agreed and she left. (Still haven't changed it, and neither will I).
Believe it or not, thats how it came from Blackfoot originally, as it came with that TBR exhaust already fitted. So I just say
" I can provide legal documents stating this is how it came new, and it has not been modified in anyway by me".
THAT usually shuts them up if they persist any further.

The bike is awesome, I am really happy that I got rid of my zx6r to get this. Its pretty much as fast as the ninja, but I'm way more comfortable doing it...I seem to be riding a lot more since I got it. I'm loving it so far, just put some pipes on it!!!

I wonder if I'll get pics of mine up before the end of the year.....
I saw a custom yesterday with a fucking 350 chev in it. 400 horses plus a 150 shot of nitrous, weights in at 1100 pounds.
Absolutely ridiculous.

Neither are his jeans, so who cares? Its his life. I see more people riding in beaters with no gloves and flip flops, then I see people wearing jackets with regular shoes. He knows the risks.Originally posted by Go4Long

i always have a pair of skaters or adidas on...
don't get me wrong...to each their own. If you don't want to wear gear then don't...but not wearing boots because you've tried on a few pairs and they weren't comfortable is silly reasoning...
You walk on your feet every day, in my opinion the most important pieces of gear you can wear is Helmet, Gloves, Boots, in that order. Everything else if you crash, it'll hurt, but it will effect you less in the long run.

^ I had a tough time getting used to riding boots, and wore them only on long highway rides. But after seeing a few pics of what can happen to ankles that aren't protected, I decided to just tough it out wear them.
I'll still throw on the Nikes if I'm going around the neighborhood, which is downtown for me, but otherwise, it's the boots. I'm sure one day I'll use them each and every time.
They'll never be as comfy as regular shoes when walking around, but you get used to riding with them. And after having a pretty good off on the track a few nights ago, I definitely appreciate their protective qualities.
There was some serious carnage at the track the other night. Which one were you?

Red/black 06 Gixxer 600. I remember not feeling any brakes going into turn 1. Pumped it a couple times, but by the time I got some good bite, I was coming in way too hot for my abilities. Stood it up and tried to run the grass into 2, but I lost it and came down hard on my left and slid through the grass then back onto the track.
Oh well, just gotta fix her up and go back at it again. I definitely know I could've thrown it over more, but I went with my gut and was wrong. It was a learning experience.
