It's sweet, but needs:
Stiffer springs
Bar risers
Lowered pegs
Lowered rear brake pedal
It's fast around the city, lots of jam in the first 4 gears even with my 260lbs ass on it.
I can wheelie / manual a mountain bike and BMX for days, and come from riding years of DH. I thought some skills would transfer over, but wheelies feel like a death sentence right now on the sumo. Hopefully the mods will make it easier to modulate the rear brake and then I can start learning to get the wheel off the ground.

"Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners."

beyond sumo crew!
Why did you pick 899 to go against the two litres? The 899 is basically a 600 class motorcycle.Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf
Nice call on the 959. Can't wait to see pics.
Personally I'd have a hard time choose between the 899, the S1000RR or the CBR1000RR SP for my next bike (on the sport bike side).
I also wouldn't mind a 690 Enduro or something along those lines.
I mean, I didn't, I have an FZ-09 and a CBR600RR. I just like the 899 because when I sat on one, it was one of the comfiest positions I've ever had on a supersport.Originally posted by snowcat

After 2400km that's currently my only problem with the 959, it feels slow under acceleration. I keep thinking about buying a 2004ish R1 and adding some go fast parts for when I want to feel the crazy power.Originally posted by snowcat

The 959 has been a great daily driver though.
I like cars.
