Didn't quite make my mileage goal on the 1200R in 2018, broke 4k in January.

Really want to do something about the headlight, but the only really decent conversion option is the Motodemic full conversion, which is a little more than I think I want to spend on lights.

Anyone else with new toys for 2019?

Removing stock mirrors, adding bar end foldable's.

Removing rear fender and all lights, adding LED kit.

Removing stock exhaust, adding Wings slip-on.

And probably a Power Commander V.

One of my closest friends picked this up, I checked it out for him, and test rode it. It's an 11 Fury, we got a smoking deal on it, $6k, so he's pumped. Cant wait to go riding with himName: 20190331_175246.jpg

Well this thread hasn't been bumped in a while, so I might as well. Picked up a bike last weekend again after a 4 year hiatus on riding. Missed it too much, but went 180 on style and taste. I was really into the look of a new Triumph Bonneville Bobber, but couldn't shake the poser feel of it. Made to look like something it wasn't which was a hacked up regular bike. The parallel twin wasn't my jam either but is quite a bit smoother and makes a bit more power than mid sized V's. It was also $15g which was tougher to swallow.

This one is a bobbed 02 Kawi Vulcan 800 classic (so it has that fat 16" front tire), I wanted to build one myself which would have been fun, but for the price that didn't make sense. Needs a couple things cleaned and tidied up, but that's also what I wanted. Happy to be riding, but it sure is a different style, I almost think supersports are more comfortable! Needs a rejet badly with the intake and pipes, that will be this weekend's project. Fork seals in the winter, maybe a different style or size/shape seat.

I know you have an entire thread dedicated to the 701, but how is it on longer rides, compared to your CBR?

I have yet to take it out on a long, steady ride. I have just been riding around town mostly for a few hours here and there. On the highway, it's quite different while in upright position. I'm like a big sail so I basically tuck into the wind to get around that. I just end up in 'sport bike position' while hitting the highway.

Around town tho, this thing really shines. Much more comfy and casual than a super sport. Agile as hell. You can really throw it around. Just tons of fun all around.

But I also have a Vic Highball that I use for my long rides. I don't think I'd do a trip to Kelowna on my 701 when I have a cruiser that can handle that no problem.

Seeing that I've been here for a while now, today seems like a good time to post my ride.
