    Default Batteries

My Optima Yellowtop shit the bed and Optima are being dicks on getting me a new one. I'm trying to re-condition it but nothing seems to be working.

So, I'm in the market for a new battery. I'm familiar with Optima and Odyssey batteries but I'm not familiar with anything outside of those two. What I need:

    1. Sealed (battery is in trunk)
    2. Deep cycle

Any other brands out there any good? With Optima screwing me on this warranty, I'd like somebody who actually stands behind their product. A $300 battery shouldn't be scrap after less than two years.

I don't know if it fits for all applications but Canadian Tire sells a gel cell similar to the Optima, however it is backed by the CT warranty, which is surprisingly good IMO. I think it comes standard with 3 years and can be extended to 5 years-full replacement for $10.

Don't go with the CT battery. I had one that shit the bed after 40 months, 4 months past the 3 yr free replacement. When I brought it in, the tech here mentioned that they've had quite a few problems with them (reviews on CT.com reflected the problems) and recommended Optima. Mine just died on me one day, the machine didn't even detect it when they tried to load test it.

After 36 months, the warranty is pro rated for the months used/10 years, or 40/120 in my case. The only good thing is that the warranty starts over with the new battery.

I don't really trust anything Stinger makes anymore, but never heard of Braille. Their product seems good but they don't have a selector. I'll have to browse through it.

I've also looked at Kinetik (a little pricey).

apparently the braille battery's are re-badged deka motorcycle battery's. the deka's are way cheaper though. Ive heard they aren't too good if you put them in the trunk.

Just what I have heard. Im probably gonna grab a deka ext16 soon.

Id stick with the Odyssey units. I loved mine, even though i killed it. However it was replaced under warranty so i can't complain.

Exide Orbital Purples. Same specs as Optima Yellow Tops and a lot cheaper. I'm very happy with mine.

Stinger batteries are just expensive re badged Odyssey. Odyssey i would say makes arguably the best battery on the market. Powermaster XS power are probably the best i personally think thats why i use them. Kenitik i knopw if the world of car audio competition have a huge failure rate.
