For the NW, you lose service around Bearspaw Gas station on 1A. But it just switches to edge (Wind Away Network) with full bars same as Rogers towers.

Royal Oak - Full Wind Home

Cross Iron I think is the rough area you lose signal and move to Wind Away going North.

Can almost make it to Chestemere and have full bars, going East. I'll look again on Friday but I'm pretty sure that's the case. I didn't have service in the hockey locker room. Not sure when it cut out exactly.

i now have less problems than my Rogers friends....especially in the last month or so.

try it and see if it works and if u have good signal where it counts for you.

Some friends have complained about a loud noise sudden noise in their ear and they're thinking its the wind network. I can never hear it and its fine for me. Wonder if it's just my phone or something.
Anyone else have callers complain to them about loud squelches at random?

Beside coverage, AWS band really blows when you're indoors.

I find myself checking frequently on coverage. And having 3 bars on the Nexus S means dick all. Especially when you're on WIND Away.

When you do have signal, the network is better Rogers in most cases. I usually do a speedtest side by side with a iPhone 4 on Rogers and generally have 10-30% better throughput.

When signal is very weak, friends tell me I "go alien" on them.

    Interesting.

The ONLY place I have issues with in town generally are big steel buildings. Typically have nothing inside most parts of IKEA. But I had the same issue with Telus.

But, inside our shop (steel roof, cinder block walls), I have zero problems in the NE near Barlow), but my partner on Rogers has very bad reception. His drops calls every second time.)

Which is better for coverage and reliability, Mobilicity or Wind?

A playbook for 200$ combined with my 35$ unlimited plan, wind rocks.

I think wind might be a bit better than mobilicity with the recent expansion of coverage but this is only speculation on my part.

I took my phone to Phoenix recently used it as much as I wanted (with data shut off). My total monthly bill was 110$.

My shaw modem just crapped out so my laptop is teathered to my blackberry with unlimited data in a wind zone.

That doesn't surprise me, Rogers is based on a TDMA network, it's a piece of shit.

I took my phone to WIND last week to try it out but they use a different band which isn't compatible with my phone. The only comparable phone they have to my HTC Sensation is their Nexus S and I don't like that one as much. I might go try out Bell, Telus is pissing me off.

Mar - pick up the tmobile version - there's a couple for sale on kijiji...

You can also pick up a mobilicity phone - most dealers can unlock for 25$ at point of purchase...

Mobilicity doesn't work at my house at all...

Anyone using this in Rocky Ridge?

Telus gets overloaded in the evenings around Crowfoot and close to home.

Actually I just noticed Mobilicity has the HTC Amaze which is a small step up from my phone (HTC Sensation) and their phones work on the WIND network. Going to give Bell a try though today since I already have a Bell SIM card and unlocked phone. If that don't work out I'll try the Amaze on WIND.

Let me know how you like it, I am need of a new wind phone. I have the crappy Nokia from when they first started. My son has the LG optimus and loves it, it's great we have him on the holiday miracle plan from last year he is one of his only friends with unlimited data.

Phone's great but it looks like I'm not getting reception in my basement where my office is and I spend most of my time. I have a feeling I'll be returning this tomorrow.

    HMP is back tomorrow:

no tethering this time though... $10 add on.

Bonus is that it's valid with WindTab+.
Also valid with better together savings

I might have to pay the $70 to get that tab+ deal... i feel like i'm being ripped of because i'm not on tab at all (the asian in me, go figure)
