Hmm, this is going to take longer than I predicted... LOL

Can anyone source me some friggen Vinyl?

TCT vinyl wants 14.31/yard for 10+ yards... or 12.45/yard for 50+ yards.. (matte black/white) in the 48" roll....

PM me if you can get it cheaper than that.

EDIT: 2mm Vinyl. Automotive Grade (10yr)

That looks sick for a self-done job! I like the hood/roof/trunk black and the rest blue though, the whole car matte was a little too much for me.

If you meant 14.31 for 10 yards that'd be sweet

15 bucks per yard seems about right though. maybe we can get 25 yds each and save

no ha ha 14.31 per yard at 48"...

That would be a sick price for just 10.

That sounds about right for that grade of vinyl in a 48" wide roll.

Let me know if you do find it cheaper. I go to victory vinyl mostly, as I like that you can get it by the yard. Let us know what they quote you.

btw peeps, you don't want to get cheap vinyl for this. ie. cast vinyl vs. calendered.

cast (2mm) will hold it's memory and contour to compound curves. calendered vinyl (3mm) can shrink after a while and usually just good for flatter bends. The price will probably tell you the difference straight away, but be sure that you're using cast vinyl for full wraps.

The person that attempts a full car wrap with TCT 2mm vinyl deserves a trophy for bravery.

I can't wait for the fail pix.

You will also need 100$ worth of goo gone when you decide to remove that TCT vinyl from your car.

Hmmmm... matte black EP3? Small enough that it will take minimal time/material.

He stated that it's Avery 2mm automotive grade?
    Why would this not work?

Better yet, what SHOULD he be using?

^^^no other way, they all have sticky backs (glue)and you basically apply soap n water to keep it from sticking so you can form it without getting it fucked up(so much lol)

UNLESS im completely wrong, maybe new vinyls have some sort of glue solution that you apply to them to get them to stick, but i doubt it.

That cheap TCT 2mm - You will do a major part of a panel, then find a bubble or a crease and try to pull it back to re-do that section and the vinyl will stretch and contort until you have to start over again.

purpose made wrap vinyl will let you peel it back several times until you get it right, without stretching or distorting, the glue won't set in fully for a couple of hours.
