I think you're missing the point here. Perhaps you're a pro and feel like you're going to loose business or something.

Sounds like that 970 oracal is somewhat foolproof then eh? I believe I saw the same vinyl used on a friends cellphone decal. Also quite easy to peel off if needed.
Pretty cool, as a 4mm should hold up far better than a 2mm.

With the right skills, I'm thinking it's still okay to use a 2mm cast. You just have to be good at using a heatgun and removing creases, the same way a 3m or tint installer would work their magic. Isn't that the purpose of thinner vinyl anyhow, so that it's more conformable to curves? Seems like they've sacrificed this by upping it to a 4mm, but made things "okay" again by having the air channels.

It's the opposite of what you think,
(i edited and deleted the link so i didn't look like I was trying to give that company business)

A pro could do a wrap with 2mm crap vinyl.

But when it's your first time you need these little tricks so that you don't make it so hard on yourself.

Like who wants to learn how to ride a bike by getting on a 1000cc sport bike? why not start out on something that is not as difficult.

You don't have to take my advise, that's for sure, I'm just telling you how to make it easier on yourself.

I would rather pay an extra 300$ rather than spend an extra 30 hours.

Avery MPI 1005 Supercast film looks like the golden ticket. Long-term removability, cast vinyl, 2 mil 10 year automotive grade. But it advertised high-gloss finish... I wonder if they have matte as well.

Yeah, good call, sometimes I say mm since most people don't understand what a mil is anyway.
Not at all accurate, but it's just a common talk.

I looked it up on google, apparently a mil is 1/1000 of an inch.

If you off road your car what do you care how the vinyl looks or stands up?

It's not a roll cage, it's just a big decal that covers the paint.

That vinyl looks great though, makes you definitely think of doing more colors!

Before you get too stoked, 651 is a calendered vinyl.
It won't conform to curves as well as a cast vinyl, If at all. I wouldn't reccomend it, unless you feel like applying it in many pieces.
