Ideas for NHL11 (PS3 / XBOX)

Just seeing if there are any ideas to make NHL11 better then NHL10

On the top of my head right now I think taking away the after whistle bullshit.. 15min games take 30min and its frustrating IMO..

Also maybe adding a bit more technical moves for deking

I like the playing on the boards but at times gets repetitive (but its very realistic).

There are alot of good things they added from NHL09, such as adding bonuses for "create your own player" and more in-depth "be a GM mode" which is awesome. The online community is great, alot more options to try out

What are your thoughts and additions?

off topic: did not know anybody noticed this, I was playing PLAY NOW the other day, and all my rosters were updated (not online) which I found strange... didnt know that happens when playing offline, etc.. meh it was sweet having the new players for Calgary

Goalies become fair game. If you want to run em over, run em over, haha. Shit after the whistle isn't a big deal, I usually forget about it, but it can be good to draw out some penalties. Maybe stupid shit like when I catch a Sedin cutting cross centre with his head down, and he gets hurt and has that little ambulance thing beside his name. I want to see the fucking stretcher come out, haha. Ya not much I can think of for useful game play, just cheesy shit.

I'd like to see a skills competition.
Whenever I make plays they aren't transferable to other seasons etc.
I miss the pond hockey stuff they had.

I miss the special moves they had back in like 95 or something, different players had different dekes.

Also I wish stats would cap out at around 85, but have a few players with 1 or 2 stats that could go up to 99.

I think the passing in 10 was terrible, goalie performance was awesome. I'd say revert to 09 passing for '11, and there honestly is not much else to tweak

I was ok with passing in 10... if you had it on your backhand in an awkward position the pass was slow as shit, but if you had it on your forehand as you're streaking up the ice you had a pretty fast pass.

Can you do a slap-pass in '10? That'd be a nice addition in '11.


I think 2010 is one of the best sports games I've ever played... They have a pretty good setup on Xbox Live, could be better, but still okay.

I can't wait for 2011 though... haha, am I the only one who buys the game the day it comes out, play it for a game and think "Holy shit! That was awesome!... ... man I can't wait for 2012... it's going to be siiiick!!"

gm mode that actually took into account UFA's and RFA's. And how signing another teams RFA affect you.

Better goalie movement

Make cross ice one timer goals harder to score.

On breakaways when you get tripped and fall to your knees, I'd like to see the players be able to get back up if there is enough time.

- Update the fucking rinks. yeah it has nothing to do with game play but I'm sick of the Saddledome being the only rink in the game still stuck with the old piece of shit jumbo tron.

- Get some new lines for the announcers play by play

- More music because i find myself sick of it after about 3 hours.

- More hype in the playoffs

- Drive the zamboni feature in intermissions

I agree 10 is an amazing game, play almost every day.

Additions:
-The passing is ok, but too often it seems they handicapped the passing speed
-Sometimes I cant see my own defense and pass all the way back to my goalie, doesnt make me happy when on the pp
-Prevent the sick fucks who score first and play keep away the rest of the way.
-Should add a rematch request ability for online games
-Fighting is a big improvement but seems like if you dont keep throwing punches you're dead
-I like the suggestion about goalie interference too

LOL. You can put your own music on your console and play a playlist inside the game.

You can change the passing characteristics to set the speed etc. to whatever you'd like.

-Real national jerseys, I think Finland is the only team to have authentic jerseys.

Online-

-Rematch capable just like in 09 and 08.
-First line change advantage. Announcers mention it but you can't even utilize it and see what the other players choose.


Game overall

-minor updates on dekes, it's been the same for a while now.
-fighting, I really don't like the 1st person view.
-getting the shot off while sliding.
-major hits over benches.


That's all I can think of right now.

Yeh I would like the AI more aware with one timers, so easy and cheap to score most of the time

maybe adding new music you can download or using your own cd's to save to the game, etc...

I'm a little confused by your two comments. You can currently do this, at least on the ps3.

I was playing last night and remembered that I hate the penalty shot camera.

I also hate that you can't change the arena for your custom teams, and you can't use the custom goalie equipment from be a pro in GM mode for your goalie.

For the season mode - Player fatigue on back-to-back games, especially for goalies.

Streakiness - Put in a stats multiplier where if a player score consistently, they goes into a hot streak. Vice-versa if they are cold.

All these things are already in FIFA, I don't know why they can't do the same for NHL...

Word up, I'm a big stat whore. There was actually an iteration of NHL that had all the goalie masks, pretty sure it was EA.

oh I was talking about the whole music selection point he made..not about passing
