    Default Yet another deck jacking

So last night someone stole my Pioneer DEH-P7400 from my car. Had to happen sometime after 10PM cause that was the time I got home from work.

Went out to my car to grab something from it today and noticed a huge gaping hole in the center of my dash and my glove box open. Whoever stole it knew what they were doing because no windows were smashed, no damage to any of my door locks or doors at all either. They disabled my Compustar by disconnecting the positive battery terminal too so I'm gonna have to do a battery backup for that. Anyone know who can do that for me?

Anyways just thought I'de vent and if anyone happens to stumble across a 7400 for CHEAP let me know.

    Fucking theives

They must've disabled your alarm pretty quick if your car was parked outside your house.

Seem to be a lot of thefts happening lately... I'm sure some people are getting a lot of hot items for Christmas!

When and where did you have it installed?

I had it installed at Futurshop in Shawnessey......but that was in June 2002 so I'm seriously doubting it was any of the installers from there.

Clearing up the insurance issues right now, they said my insurance won't go up with this claim since it's my first comprehensive claim ever. Nice to hear but still shitty to know someone out there has my deck.

Does anyone know of a good installer that can do a battery back up install for my alarm?

Isn't your hood alarmed too? I have my doors, trunk and hood protected.

Damnit man. I know how you're feeling but mine was a cheap deck and your's was a nice one, but its still the principle. My situation was exactly the same with yours, minus the presence of a compustar; glove box open, rear seat open, missing deck and undertray. And wires were a nice clean cut too! Can't wait to move to another house with a garage.

Yah I have hood, door, trunk pins but whoever did it knew what they were doing...popped the hood and killed my battery right away.

Hmmm, so the guys got a P7400 in huh... i'm gonna have to give em a call, that would look sweet in the s14. (Jokes) sorry to hear that man, if I do hear about it, I'll let you know, I'll ask a couple of my friends, friends with shady careers. What area do you live in? If it's in the NW then I hope I get a serious alarm for christmas.

Yah I already talked to a couple friends who have or have been involved in 'shady' careers. They're keeping their ears open as well.

I live in Hawkwood which is one of the last places I expected my shit to get jacked...especially considering I work at Chinook and my alarm has never been triggered there.

I was thinking of buying a rottwieler (sp) to keep in my car... no battery needed. Just gotta remember to let him out once in a while. Worst thing is Ajay, that they will be back. Everyone knows how the insurance deal works. My car was broken into 3 times, and it was a shitty old prelude, with bad stereo components.. I swear they kept coming back expecting something good to be in there, but I learned my lesson after the first deck. Good luck with insurance

Yah...this time I'm actually gonna take my faceplate out with me wherever I go.

Usually I did anyway.....when I was at school, work, or if I went out someplace downtown or to a pub I'de always take my faceplate with me.

Even before I had my alarm I took my faceplate out when I parked my car out front of my house. After getting the alarm I was less cautious and it caught up to me I guess.

    Haven't driven my car since then cause;
    1) Passenger side window doesn't roll up all the way
    2) Don't feel like driving my car with a big gaping hole in the middle of the dash.
