I've seen a 2000 GC8G (99-00) 4 door for sale, with turbo, WRX hood & WRX deck spoiler. That doesnt mean much, not hard to bolt on some parts and the right engine.
Was the bug eyed WRX was the first one here, or is this one legit ?

They did not. First WRXs were 2002 models just like in Canada. JDM models have to be 15 yrs old. Most likely what OP saw was a car with a WRX swap which is not that uncommon these days.Originally posted by ercchry
