    Default Android Help!

Is anybody here good with doing android rooting etc? I have no clue what I'm doing and don't want to brick my phone.

If someone could do it for me or help me along the way I would appreciate it. Thanks

Oh and to add the only way to brick your unit is to install a radio that is incompatable with the rom or you flash the radio with a non-radio file. In other words, DONT FUCK WITH THE RADIO!

Not untill you get more familiar with everything.

To prevent a headache NAND backup before any flash once you have the Amon RA recovery installed. This will allow you to revert back to working setting if you mess something up.

I had a G1 when they first came out. If you don't open the slider doesn't the on screen keyboard pop up on it's own?

    Well heres my story.

I bought this phone off a brown guy from kijiji used for $150.

The screen digitizer and lcd is all fucked up and doesn't work.
Ordered a new digi and lcd off ebay.
    Ordered a new housing.

Now, I thought the jumpy screen was because of software issues so I reverted to android 1.0 on this phone. Which obviously didn't fix the screen issues that the guy who sold me the phone said would fix.

Anyways, My new parts will be here this week and I want to put that cryogenitics mod thing back on that I once had but this shit is all way over my head.

I can unlock iphones all day long but this is another story

Well I remember rooting my G1 back in the day and that was like a good year or so ago, so I won't have any clue what to do at this point.

All I can tell you is that I did it myself by reading the instructions I found on xdadevelopers at the time. It wasn't necessarily easy, but it deff wasn't impossible. If you are able to jailbreak your iPhone and stuff, you just need to carefully follow the instructions and you should be able to do this one as well.

If you have not installed the Rogers 911 fix you should be o.k. to root it. I unfortunately did

I think if you install an item from a market that's a replacement keyboard, or the leaked swype, can you not select the input when you press and hold the a text box?

    p.s. Cyanogen.
