The Camera Store finally got cotton gloves back in stock, I put them on when I'm loading film.

After shooting a matter of only 4 rolls I've come to two conclusions:
1) I was not meant to develop film
2) I was not meant to scan film
I don't know why but man I can't load that f'in reel for the life of me. 2/3 of the pictures look great, the others, well they're there somewhere.
Also, my scanner dislikes SilverFast. It previews perfectly fine but when it goes to scan and brings the TIFF into PS, it turns a negative into a positive, it's some seriously cool X-ray shit if I was going for that. Vuescan doesn't do this at all. Matter of fact, Vuescan is super easy! It makes the files much larger than SilverFast at the same dpi but I can live with that. The catch? I have to spend more money. Something must need to be done for SilverFast to bring the TIFFs into PS properly but I haven't a clue.
For my sanity, please oh please someone give me a hand. Thanks in advance,
Matt

Are you still at the university? Bring me your dev tank and a roll of film you can throw away and show me what you're doing and I'll see what you're doing wrong.
Ya thursday could work, probably around 3? Thanks D..

Hi film shooters. I have too many developing tanks and reels and want to give at least one set away. If you have been wanting to start developing film and need a tank, I'd be glad to give you one.
And if you have been using a plastic tank and want to try a steel tank (or vice versa), I can let you borrow one to try out too.
Hey blitz, how's the 4x5 treating you?
Yes, I'm still alive. But my job is slowly killing me. I seriously need to get a new job. Haven't had much luck. I think I was only able to shoot 2 rolls of film this summer, which is quite depressing.
I think that's 2 more rolls than I've done
4x5 is good. I've only shot twice with it and developed in my paterson 35/120 tank with the spool removed, results were ok-ish. Just got in a real 4x5 daylight tank this week so I'm going to take it out this weekend.
But man that 90mm doesn't need much bellows to focus. I need to get something longer so I can play with it more effectively.
KEH's got a bargain grade Fujinon 180mm for $144.00. They also get cheap 210mm's for around the same price from time to time.
I don't think that's how developing prints works...Originally posted by dragonone
