    Default Notice of Conviction

I got a red-light camera ticket that was due to be paid on the 30th of April. I totally forgot about having it, and when I checked the mail there was a letter.

I'm able to get my license back on the 18th, so I assume that this "conviction" has to be paid up before that happens. Also is it possible to get an extension on this ticket?

    ^What?

When they convicted you in your absence, they likely also set a date by which the fine is to be paid. Does it not indicate that date in the notice?

If you went to the courthouse with the ticket number, you could ask what the date is. You should also be able to ask for an extension in the usual way. Extensions are more likely to be granted if applied for before the date that they are due.
