You really can't compare the two.

Firstly, Greyson's version was recorded from an iphone or camcorder. With untreated room sound, improper recording setup, lack of mic technique or mic filters. You are getting a straight cut live version. Not to mention I'm sure he's never had recording experience so he makes tons of little mistakes on how to polish his performance.

Whereas Gaga's video has been treated. Yes she sings it live but its going through MANY MANY treatments before spitting out the actual live version. Such as autotune, I know she's very good on her tones usually. But you can hear the autotune kick in a few times in her version. Also, there is an EQ to remove and add certain harmonics that give her a more full bodied, crisp, polished sound. On top of that, there is a reverb applied to give her voice a smoothness and blend plenty of the harsh sibilance in her voice. It's also been balanced with someone "riding" the levels between her voice and the piano, you can hear the volume ratio shift artificially (more than just her emphasis on the voice/piano).

I'm sure there is more treatments being that she's in a full studio but those are the ones i can hear without having the proper uncompressed version of it.

My verdict:
Gaga is gaga plain and simple, she's awesome and can't be replicated. But Greyson nailed it! Especially for someone only 12 years old. Absolutely amazing.

For example, Saying that she's untreated in that video is like saying that this video here is untreated. The difference is that whoever treated her in this video is an idiot and should be fired from the studio.
