Really!???!! you must not get out much. VW is well known for its reliability issues. i've owned 2 (an air cooled and a GTI), and my brother now drives a GTI, so i've had just a bit of experience with them. luckily, we grew up in a family of mechanics.

i really do admire VW, especially some of the air cooled gems, but they do require a lot of time and $. i'm not surprised at all to hear about the problems with your relatively new jetta.

i had over 500,000kms on my old '97 tdi passat and never had any problems with it until my cousin drove it into a bridge.

I've got 250,000kms on my A4, no problems so far and 160,000 on my wifes passat again no problems.

Depends on how you take care of your stuff. I've learned German cars are less forgiving if you "use up" cars, but if you do recommended maintenance you will be surprised how long they last.

This and some of the new lower end models are fairly reliable now. 2.5L Rabbit is rated above average for reliability in surveys.

I see that SDS is still scamming people and jerking them around. I dont know if you guys remember me, im kenny at urban exp, but there was a thread awhile ago where they took my "refundable" 500$ deposit on a Audi a4, decided not to buy it due to it not being registerd in like 3 years and damage to the side door that i did not see before and a bunch of other crap. Did not give me my deposit back casue they had the car all "detailed" and checked out..blahblahblah.
Im still 500$ down but in the end got a nice 2004 acura tl from Platinum motors.

Wait, isn't his dad's name Norman? Maybe they're sharing his dad's identify (licenses, etc...) by doing that? So everytime he signs something as norman baker, he's actually using his dad's identify rather than his own for business purposes
