Talk about reaction time.... I wonder what got him so confused?
Shitttt
the G's those guys pull are ridiculous prob got tunnel vision
I watched this on the broadcast. I don't know that it was tunnel vision, but they are doing 300+km/h and 10+G in the turns. Guaranteed to mean a single slip-up will be cashed in right away.Originally posted by v2kai

Earlier in the weekend, another guy completely demolished one of the gates. Luckily they are thin inflatable plastic, so the damage to the aircraft was minimal if anything.
IIRC there has only ever been one actual crash during the races/practice, and zero injuries/fatalities, which is a pretty fine record.
I cant believe the prop survived the dunk in the water like that...
that was close....the gay gasp is hilarious
He had a miss and cut a gate with his left wing, the piece of fabric stayed on for too long, disturbing the air flow over left wing, making him dip more.
Here's the official video from the race producers, now with 100% more unclassy cut to wife recoiling in shock.

Anyone been to one of these shows before? They are in town (NYC) this weekend...was thinking about checking it out.

I can't watch this video at work but are you sure that the speeds aren't significantly higher than that?Originally posted by Jay911

yeah they are hitting around 200 KTS so about 370km/h , they are capable 230 kts or about 426 km/h top speed but iirc the rules state that you can't pass 205 KTS or you are disqualified for safety reasons.Originally posted by arian_ma

i have seen a few Extra 300s here at springbank and when they take off they gtfo , fuselage is metal iirc but basically made of wood and composite for the spars and a huge lycoming 6 cylinder (i guess comparable to a V8 in a firefly/sprint), one owner came in for fuel from ontario and was yapping about the rate of climb to be something like 3000ft/min, put that into perspective a C-182 with a TCM 470 has a rate of climb is about 900ft/min
