When will these be available for pre-order from Fido/Rogers or Apple?

I read that IPhones from apple store will be sold unlocked, will they also be sellin phones locked to a carrier?

Isn't it just the 3gS that is going to be unlocked after the release of the iphone4?

You'll be able to directly buy an unlocked iPhone 4 from Apple, without any contract or obligations.

I am not sure when Rogers/Fido are going to announce the pre-orders, haven't heard any info on that as of yet.

As for release date, I haven't heard anything besides that the Canadian release date will not coincide with the US release date (correct me if I'm wrong please).

$650 isn't that bad actually for the 16GB (all I need). I was expecting the prices to be more like $800.

Anyone have an idea what an as-new 16 GB 3Gs will be worth once the Iphone4 goes on sale? $250?

I had my 3gs last July with fido with a 3yr contract what do I need o do to get a 4g?

Subsidized phones from carriers will not be unlocked.
Phones bought from apple without contract will be unlocked.

No word yet on if rogers is going to allow early upgrades for user to get the Iphone 4 but anyone with half a brain in marketing says they will as it means extending a contract and not losing users to other carriers.

Call customer service and inquire with them, you can try to see if they will let you restart your contract when the new iphone comes out.

BTW 3gs's have dropped down to $99 for the 16gb and $149 for the 32gb, still debating whether or not to try and sell the berry and go with a iphone this time....

Even on ebay the prices have dropped drastically.

It is funny however to see all the Iphones on the marketplace here hovering around 500-600 used when you can snag a brand new 32gb for less with cancellation charges.

Sorry for the confusion, i mean if I were to sell my used 3Gs to help fund an iPhone 4.

If they are making all new 3Gs's 8GB, then there is likely to be at least some market for the used 16 and 32GB variants. If I could get $250-300 or so for it, it would make my decision to buy a new unlocked iPhone4 a lot easier.

why dont you sell it before it comes out? providing you do got a spare phone kicking around. =P
