    Default Eye prescription question

In case someone out there knows.

The lady at the office won't tell me and said because it's been almost 2 years since my last exam, I have to go in and get a new exam to talk to the Doctor.

Anyway my eye prescription is -2.25 in both eyes and it's been between -2.00 and -2.25 for the past decade.

I found some cheap prescription swim googles on clearly contacts for $25 shipped but it's only -2.00 or -2.50, -2.25 isn't available.

Obviously I think it's worth a shot to opt for the -2.00, I don't think -.25 will make a huge difference?

From personal experience I would much rather have the prescription slightly under, versus stronger.

I thought you were getting laser eye done? which makes the prescription goggles confusing.

It also sucks that you can't wear goggles for a decent duration post surgery too

Yes I am under the impression to go slightly under versus stronger as well. It's like wearing older glasses and not knowing your prescription has slightly changed, should be alright?

As for the laser eye thing I'm not sure anymore. It's kind of silly but I've asked about 20 friends and family members and >80% of them said I look better in glasses?!

Definitely go under vs over. You won't even notice .25 difference, especially under water.

What are you trying to read while swimming?

Or are you trying to check out bikini bottoms while bobbing underwater?

hence the reference to bobbing as he doesn't know how to swim yet.

Go for the less strong prescription. I have a pair of glasses that are two prescriptions old (maybe -0.50 out from my new prescription) but I can still wear them quite comfortably, they just aren't as sharp as my new prescription, but I love the frames so still use them.

As well I have also had eye doctors put me in a less strong prescription so I can buy just one pack of contact lenses (i.e. one eye is -3.0, the other -3.25 so I just use -3.0 contacts in both eyes to make things simple.
