    Default LOR Three

So just got back from the screening here. Pretty dam impressive, great fight scenes, the story was awesome but that was a given, and so much dry humor. It's amazing, totally worth the wait. I had to watch the other two last night just to remind me of all the side stories and characters. Also been playing the new PS2 LOR game, that game is ridiculous, so much senseless violence. Wonderful.

Movies that long need an intermission. I had to take a leak so bad by the end I almost didn't make it to the washroom.

They played out sooooo many scenes for way too long. I was just wishing I had a fast forward button the whole movie. I wonder what they're gonna put in the extended version? Scenes of Frodo sleeping?

Sorry, great CGI, good story but some DAMN BORING PARTS that kills the mood. I doubt I'll go see the 3rd one, if I do, it wont be on my 14 bucks.

All i can say is im fuckin disappointed...

disappointed that i have nothin to look forward to next year. BRILLIANT film! i literally cried when it hit me... theres no more after this to look forward too. I cried in the battles, i felt like i wanted to grab a sword and start fighting. Only other movie to make me feel this way was the the two towers. Easily the most fantastic trilogy ever created... EVER.

However, if i was aragorn, i woulda made the pact with the undead army to help me win the battle and finish the war and i would release them. that way he coulda fought at mordor and stood a chance.

I got that SICK feeling in my stomach seeing the army of orcs surround the small group of warriors. Almost as if an endless army vs 500 or so people. made me feel SO sick lol.

Also one thing that has always erked me... if gandalf is this supposidly superior wizard... why the fuck doesnt he ever use his magic... all he did in this movie was make his staff a giant flashlight to ward off the nazgul! *shrugs*

    but either way: fantastic...

I thought the movie was awesome. The scene when frodo woke up and in slow motion saw everybody and got all excited was really bad otherwise I thought it was great. The battles were amazing. They cut out a ton though. There was no mention of Saruman in the entire movie so that must be in the extended version. All the parts with frodo and sam up to when sam finds him in the orc tower(the spider, gollum etc) were all actually from the Two Towers book. But it made more sense climactically to have it in the last movie so they had to cut a lot of the 3rd book out of the movie for that stuff. Also if you like the comedy between Legolas and Gimli in the battles then definitely see the extended version of the Two Towers, there are some hilarious lines/scenes that got cut.

Saw it last night, AWESOME, simply AWESOME. If you're only a casual fan, I can see how you might think it dragged on, I'm no hardcore fan but I was still totally engrossed in it. The battle scene makes Helm's Deep look like a summer camp!

I'm a little glad that they did cut the fight scenes from when they got back to the Shire. In the book they got back and find the Shire has been run over by thugs. They then have to fight them all to get them out and restore the Shire to it original form.

I'm was a little surprised that they cut out a pretty major portion of when the King dies on the Battlefield they have a pretty big scene where they carry him back to the castle to give him a proper burial.

Cutting out Saruman was a little dissapointing. The scene where they run into him and Wormtongue on the road back to the Shire is pretty good.

Other than those changes the movie was awesome and I felt a fitting end to the trilogy. Rumour has it that they will go back and do the Hobbit in the near future. Smog would be very cool to see on fim.

I didn't think it was my thing either, took me a month to see the Fellowship after it came out. But man, I tell you, once I saw it I was hooked. I hadn't read the books or knew any of the background, but I got into it right away. You need to see them in sequential order, if you go see Return of the Kings now, you'll be WTF all movie!
