    Default Costco Kobe Beef

Read the reviews on the Costco site, and Red Flag Deals and it sounds like they thinks it's Wagyu. Just wondering if anyone has ordered though? It's still less money than a steakhouse for 8 people.

It states Kobe Classic, so with that, it is not the same as the Kobe Beef raised in Japan so the price reflects.

I skipped because of the reviews, and just went and bought the Prime at Beacon Hill Costco. The more I thought of it, the more I didn't want to ruin 250.00 worth of meat not knowing what to do with it. So $100.00 worth of prime will have to do.

I wouldn't mind trying two pieces of the ribeye if anyone else wants to split an order. It's still cheaper than Second to None's cuts.

Sorry to sound like a noob, but is the taste really worth the increased price over, say, a high grade cut of sirloin? Does the difference only hash itself out in the higher done-ness ranges? Effectively, aren't you just paying for a more well-distributed fat content or is the actual meat fiber itself just that much better?

I would be interested in going in on this with someone.. maybe if it were closer to $150 or $200 for 8. How detrimental is freezing to the taste of this cut?

make sure you read the reviews. at least a couple say the cuts don't look anything like the picture on the costco site (in terms of marbling).
