I tried this out today and it basically plays a song, then starts buffering for 30 minutes. I can stream Netflix no problem, so I know it's not an issue on my end. Is this normal?

Interesting. I've been using it for weeks..months perhaps? Never an issue. I very recently just discovered songza.com is available to stream via the web too!

thinking of rooting my phone. is there any applications or processes i can do to back up my phone so i can root it and restore my settings and everything?

Nope. You can once it's rooted. That's why people opt to root it out of the box rather than later.

I apologize if this has been answered already, I don't want to read the entire thread, but is there a music player that uses a cloud service that I can upload from to stream music? I can use Dropbox or Google Drive, but 5GB doesn't cut it.

I can't use/download Google Music because of the Canadian restriction. Even with the VPN for US IPs, it now requires a US credit card to join, which sucks.

Ideas?

well rooted my phone and my phone settings stayed the same. so i guess im happy that i dont have to start from scratch.

now the thing is, i read that you can get better battery times and such with rooting? any insight? or any cool apps for phones that are rooted?

I got an e-mail today about aCAR Pro Unlocker available today only for $1. It's usually $6 to unlock the Pro features. I thought I would share with you guys.

I love this app and have had it for well over a year on Pro. It's a vehicle managment app to track all your car's expenses and gas fill up records. It provides statistics and charts and reminders for all your vehicles you add to it.

The Pro version is well worth it for the full screen charts and graphs, home screen widgets, multiple data backup options, and ability to import data from various other applications and export as well.

So I ended up beating up my S2x so badly that it would just constantly reset - bought another brand new one used. But back to GOSMS problems. What do you guys keep your settings at for auto delete? I find if I start to get too many msg's from more than a few people the phone gets really laggy and buggy.

I dont even think I have that many msg's saved this time though, theres only a handful over 4 or 500 and most are in the 0-100 range. And only a couple dozen 'threads' or whatever you wanna call them.

jokes aside, when i used to text, i only used to keep about 200-300 texts.

On another note, you should look into whatsapp, kik messenger, or even facebook messenger. With almost every one on smart phones now days, chances are they are using one of those three, and there is the odd ball that is still using a stupid phone that you will have to text.
