    Default Rear differential fluid flush??

When I change rear diff fluid, I usually just drain the old fluid and fill new one in.

The dealership is charging $100 more if I were to get it flushed.

How is this being done? I never really heard anyone flushing rear diff fluid before. Do they use some sort of high pressure hose to flush it out? Can we do it at home?

I would assume you could just pop the cover off the diff and clean out the old oil that stays behind coating everything. I used brake cleaner on the diff in my truck, though I don't actually know if it was wise to spray solvent in there... worked OK for me. Once it's clean close it back up and fill.

Brake clean is what they use. There is no "flush".

Once you pop the cover off, you need a new gasket, correct?

a buddy of mine had the rear diff go on his AE86. We pulled it off and it was full of a semi-syrup like mixture of burnt synth oil and metal shavings. We scraped it out pretty good but there were fine shavings all through the axels and over everything. a used diff and simple no flush re-fill later and the thing has been fine long term... IMO new diff oil will be just fine and definitely do it in your garage using high temp gasket maker (6$).
