These storm threads are usually ridiculous , such a huge overreaction.
Going to turn into a "boy who cried wolf" scenario soon.
Yeah lightning tends to be a big issue for transmission lines. So we know stores, plus we get all the storm warnings etc right away too.Originally posted by diamondedge
You have sensors for that shit? Damn I want to work where you work haha.
I presume if lightning strikes a pylon or transmission tower, you would know. Somehow. I don't know.

i don't think you guys understand just how bad the hail was up near the University... take a drive up there and look at the cars. the estimate to repair the damages to my vehicle is almost $20000, so the insurance company is writing it off. it's a bum deal for me, because I nowhave to haggle with the insurance about the worth of the car, find something to replace it, pay the taxes out of pocket, etc.Originally posted by Disoblige
Your new car was written off?!
I dunno.. But at my body shop, my civic had over 8G of damage and still wasn't written off.. And even before that, there was work done to the car.

Are you going to buy the car back? You can maybe have a little bit of fun with it, and also have some cash in your pocket. I mean, it's mostly cosmetic stuff, the mirrors and stuff you can fix too.Originally posted by nonlinear
