    Co. of Newell near Bassano upgraded from Severe thunderstorm warning

    At 3:00 PM MST two intense thunderstorms were detected near Milo and just northwest of Bassano. The storms are tracking eastwards at 30 km/h. The storms have the potential to produce large hail, strong winds, and a tornado.

    This is a warning that severe thunderstorms with tornadoes are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions. Take immediate safety precautions.

    Note..A summary of all warnings and watches for Southern Alberta is available in the WWCN15 CWWG bulletin issued immediately following this bulletin.

    A cold front through Southern Alberta will combine with an upper level impulse crossing the Rocky Mountains to produce thunderstorms in Southern Alberta. The most intense thunderstorms are expected to be in the Medicine Hat, Coronation and Brooks region and could produce a tornado.

    sunny as a MF at the University, but i could care less since my car was written off by insurance from the last hail storm.

    I hope nothing happens. I have no choice but to drive the car to work. I don't get off until 10:30 so I hope we don't get anything here. A few co-workers got hit very hard last time we had the hail.

    EDIT: I think I might hide my car under some bush at my boss's acreage, or swap out the Sebring.

    Your new car was written off?!

    I dunno.. But at my body shop, my civic had over 8G of damage and still wasn't written off.. And even before that, there was work done to the car.

    Wow guys. My lightning monitor is showing only 37 strikes in the last half hour. Hardly serious lightning.. Last week in the calgary area it was over 1000 strikes a half hour.

    You have sensors for that shit? Damn I want to work where you work haha.

    I presume if lightning strikes a pylon or transmission tower, you would know. Somehow. I don't know.
