Personally, I like the 2012 Civic coupes. Also, the Genesis is in the same class as a Civic Si in my opinion. The new Si has a 2.4L now.

The civic coupe is really the perfect all-around car in this environment. You get reliability, styling, fun factor, great fuel economy, awesome resale value.

In my test drive of the Genesis, the handling needs a lot of work still it rolled like a pig around an off-ramp, a BMW wagon can out corner it easily.

However, props on the purchase, the colour, getting an awesome deal and above all being happy with your purchase.

IMO, there is no way a Civic is in the same class as a Genesis. Comparing FWD with RWD is apples to oranges. Civics are in the same class as compacts such as the Mazda 3. The SI package is just adding on "performance" features to a basic economy FWD car.

Did you test drive the GC with the track suspension package? Ive driven a Mustang and a GC without the track suspension and would say that the GC does not have the heavy car feel that the 'Stang has. Admittedly, the GC is a heavier and wider car than economy compacts like the 3, Focus, or Civic, so it does not feel as nimble.

As a side note, anyone know how long the 0% financing option for the GC 2011 will go on until? When are the best deals to be had?

A Civic Si and a Genesis cost about the same, both are coupes, similar power. Hmm, same class to me. Only difference is the FWD vs RWD. Stock for stock, I would think the new Civic Si would beat a 2.0 Genesis turbo around a track since the Civic is 180kg lighter.

Lets give the OP the spotlight here and get off other cars....

This. Keep your opinions to a relevant thread as this isn't it.

should have updated this a long time ago; saw another good Genesis build thread to remind me to do this. I've resisted any actual bolt on mods for the sake of the factory warranty so far.

    HIDs installed:

and quick shot of the custom center caps

eibach pro kit is not installed in these pics. I can live with the wheel gap, and it is a daily driver so I want to maintain dd functionality.

For those who care, over 45K on the car now and not a single issue. Regular maintenance has consisted of fluids and filters.
