You guys may not realize it, but beyond could pretty much by itself decide who wins the civic election. This was voter turnout in 07

    Dave Bronconnier 128,112 61.08%
    Alnoor Kassam 35,442 16.90%
    Sandy Jenkins 16,531 7.88%
    Jeremy Zhao 8,025 3.83%
    Allan Foster 6,455 3.08%
    David Bertram 5,549 2.65%
    Elizabeth Kaur Fielding 4,010 1.91%
    Harry Heck 3,811 1.82%
    J. J. Sunstrum 1,813 0.86%.

I can almost promise the high turnout for Bronco was to make sure Kassam didn't get in.

QFT... I wasn't a fan of Bronco but I voted for him over Kassam... I also dragged out a few buddies who don't vote and had them do the same.

We don't need Gargamel running our affairs... something is wrong with that dude.

So should all beyond members have to vote for the winner of this poll?

Would make beyond an even more powerful influence in Calgary haha

Would be great if all Calgary Beyond members voted on this poll......interesting to see how the results compare with October 18th!

Voting is a democratic right. Voting is the one time you can get your say.

If you don't vote, you can't bitch about who gets in.

    Do it! Vote!

I'd vote for McIver just based on the legacy his name carries (even if it's not spelt the same).

Saw this on Alnoor Kassam's site in the discussion section:

"You actually think you have a chance?

We don't vote in terrorists in this city. Piss off dirka dirka. You already blew a million bucks last time and still were a distant second."

Seriously? The dirtbags that say shit like that are the people that keep this town a redneck shithole in some places. How the hell is Kassam even close to being a terrorist? I think he's a greasy dirtbag businessman, but he's no terrorist.

Can you add "Who Gives a Toss" to the poll? I am there.

This city would be better run by an octopus and a couple of Mason jars.*

Perhaps the votes are in-line with beyond's demographics?

absolutely, and that's why i think it will be so interesting to compare results from beyond to those from the municipal election. interestingly, neither is a representative cross section of the city.
